The Moscow Metro is a city attraction also the easiest and most reliable way to get around the city in most directions, even far from the downtown. Radial lines are joined together by a brown circular line. Each line has its own name, colour and number on the metro map. The name of every station is announced in the car in Russian. When the train starts, the loudspeaker announces the next stop. Metro is open from 6:00 am till 1:00 am. On the days of big Russian National holidays, such as Russian Easter or Christmas, or New Year’s Day the Metro can work till 3:00 am. Metro passes are available at the ticket cashiers at every station. The cost of the card is 28 rubles and does not depend on the number of transfers and stops.
