The national Russian currency is Ruble (RUR). One Ruble is equal to 100 kopecks. At the present time, there are the following money in circulation: coins of 1, 5, 10, 50 kopecks; coins of 1, 2, 5 Rubles; notes issued in 1997 of 5, 10, 50, 100, 500, 1000, 5000 Rubles. You will find hundreds of banks and currency exchange counters around Moscow. The exchange rate may vary from one counter to the other. Dollars and Euros are the most commonly used exchange currency. Only new bills, that are not worn or torn, are accepted in banks. Do not change your money on the street. By doing so, you can be robbed.
